- Create your own 4 digit password – this password does not change
- Your Corporate Apple ID Password: C0unc1l15
- Change Microsoft password through webmail
- Outlook password needs to be changed periodically;
- You will need to update it on iPad after each password change

- Tap the App Store Icon
- In the Search bar – top right corner type: ipad user guide for ios8.1
- Tap on GET – then Tap INSTALL
- Swipe left to right to read
- The Guide will now be stored in your iBooks Icon
- Tap the iBooks Icon to access the Guide
List of steps for Committee / Council Meetings - Requests and Documents
- Receive meeting requests for the year and throughout the year
- Open Calendar – accept / maybe / decline
- Always choose one option – you can change it at a later date;
- If you choose decline, the meeting will disappear from your calendar
- Set your own reminder time
- Receive email with Agenda package attachment
- Open attachment to view PDF
- Open PDF in Adobe Reader to edit or save
- Save in Adobe Reader or save in OneDrive (to use on any PC)
Dates show as links in an open email. Tap the link to open an appointment to add to your calendar. Phone Numbers show as links in an open email. Tap to add the number to your Contacts.
iPad Features
Home Button
- Wakes up the iPad when you are ready to use it
- Exits applications
- Opens to the first page of icons
Click the Home Button whenever you want to view the Home Screen.
Sleep/Wake
-
Puts the iPad to sleep and wakes it back up again
- If the iPad is inactive, it will put itself to sleep
On/Off
- Hold Button down for several seconds, then swipe to confirm
Double Click the Home Button to see all open applications.
- To close applications, swipe or drag each page upwards
Slide across to Unlock
Enter Passcode
Home Page Icons
Swipe left or right; tap an icon to open an app or switch to app that is already open
Swipe for Second Page of Icons
Number in Red Circle on Mail Icon indicates number of unread emails
Calendar
Tap Calendar Icon to Open

· Number in Red Circle on Calendar Icon indicates number of unread meeting requests

· Tap Inbox to show list of current meeting requests unopened

· Tap to Accept, Maybe or Decline Meeting

· Tap outside of window to close
-
· Always choose one option – you can change it any time by tapping on the meeting in your calendar

· If you choose Decline, the meeting will disappear from your calendar
Reopen Meeting to Edit

· Tap a meeting in your calendar to open
-
· Set your own reminder time:
1. Tap on “15 minutes before”
2. Select another time from list
3. Accept to save

· Tap a different choice of Accept, Reject or Tentative if required
Create your own Meeting/Appointment
-
· Hold you finger on a Calendar Appointment time for 3 seconds
-
· New Event block will appear with a Window of fields and options to complete

· Tap in Title and type
-
· Tap Location – see below
-
· Choose and edit all applicable items
Location Options
-
· When you tap Location, a new window will open with a blank field to type in
-
· As you begin typing, a list will appear with items from your Outlook Lists
-
· You may choose one from the list or continue typing a new location
-
· Tap the new name you’re created below or tap an item from the list to return to the New Event window (shown above)
Mail
Tap Mail Icon to Open

· List of emails opens on left side
-
· Or if window opens in an email tap <Inbox to show email list

· Email opened most recently is open behind the list and is shaded grey in the list
Paperclip indicates email has an attachement

· Tap <Mailboxes to see list of email folders
-
· Only Inbox is synced to Outlook; other folders need to be synced manually – download iPad User Guide for IOS 8.1 for instructions
Edit Email List

· Select one or more items to Mark / Move / Trash

· Tap Cancel to undo
Open an Email

· Tap an email in the Inbox list

· Tap <inbox to return to email list
Email Options
- Tap an icon in upper corner to:

Notify me…
(Receive Notifications when anyone replies to this email thread)
Tap on a mailbox to move this message. (Email folders will open on left side of screen)

Locate Attachment

· Scroll down to bottom of email

Tap to Download Attachment

· Page icons are shown in list to the right of the document

· Swipe up and down through pages

· Tap a page icon to view
Save PDF
Tap Icon at top right of page
This will save your document automatically in the Adobe Reader File
Find Your Document(s)

· Tap the Adobe Reader Icon on the 2nd Icon page

· Left menu contains folders

· Documents will be listed on the right side of screen
- Tap on document icon/title to open
Add Comments or Mark-Up & Save Documents to Adobe

Open a document in Adobe Acrobat
-
Select the Blue Pencil Tool in bottom right corner
- Select Comment

Edit the Document using the tools at top of screen > then Click Done (top left)

Add Text
Tap document to open keyboard > write a note > Tap:
Draw
Choose a colour from the circle > draw on the document
Add Comment
Tap document to open keyboard > write a comment > Tap:

To re-open the document, select the Acrobat icon on your iPad
- Scroll through the alphabetical list of documents and tap to open
- To Delete a document tap on the three dots for list of actions – delete at bottom
Access Webmail from your iPad
- Access Webmail from any computer with internet access
- Insert into any Browser: webmail.grey.ca
- Username & Password are the same as your Microsoft login
(last name and first initial for username)
